Discover the benefits of sitting a KSOL Independent Mock Exam

Every year, Independent Schools in the Midlands offer over £2.1m in bursaries and scholarships for talented boys and girls based on their entrance exam scores.

We will be holding a mock exam especially written for children aiming to obtain a place at an independent school. In addition to covering high level questions in Maths, English, Verbal Reasoning and Non Verbal Reasoning, the exam will also incorporate a Creative Writing activity.

KSOL understand what is required to succeed. We are committed to giving your child the right support at the right time. Our exams help to identify any problem areas, allowing enough time afterwards to rectify them before the big day.

When and where is the mock exam taking place? 

  • Sunday 22nd September at 10am - Light Hall School, Hathaway Road, Shirley, B90 2PZ.

Our mock exams follow the most up-to-date exam format. Your child is guaranteed to be exposed to the style and level of questions expected in the exam. The exam comprises three 1-hour papers: Paper 1 - Maths, Paper 2 - English, and Paper 3 - Verbal & NVR. The exam is monitored by experienced invigilators, ensuring exam conditions are maintained throughout.

Participating in our mock exam will provide both you and your child with valuable insights into areas that may require improvement.

You will receive a standard exam report with scores in each section, plus a confidential ranking. You will also have the option to order a more detailed exam report, which would include further in-depth details of your child’s performance, with advice on areas to improve upon, exam technique and behaviours on the day.

Terms and Conditions

Cancellation Notice Period: 
Single Exam bookings: cancellation up to 2 weeks before exam. No refunds within 2 weeks. No changes to exam times within 2 weeks of the exam. Discounted Bundle Exam bookings: cancellations allowed only within first 14 days of purchase. No refunds after 14 days.
Any late pick ups interrupt staff time, so a charge of £10 will be applied to parents arriving more than 15 minutes after the session finish time. This fee of £10 will be charged for every 15 minutes (after first 15 mins) that a child is under the care of KSOL staff over the agreed allocated time. There will be no refunds provided for events cancelled by KSOL due to unforeseen circumstances; candidate will be moved to online exam instead. Full terms and conditions can be viewed here.
