About Bexley Grammar School::
Established in 1955 by Edward Heath, Bexley Grammar School in the London Borough of Bexley is a renowned mixed grammar school and is nationally ranked 67th according to Sunday Times Parent Power.
Year 7 admissions open on 15th May 2023, offering 210 places. The Bexley Selection Test is the chosen exam format, with the date falling between 9th–14th September 2023. Results are age-standardised and the top 180 scoring children are considered for placement.
Bexley Grammar School utilises the same entrance examination as the three other schools in the London Borough of Bexley, namely Beths Grammar, Chislehurst & Sidcup Grammar, and Townley Grammar. As a result, your child only has to sit for a single examination, referred to as the Bexley Selection Test, to be considered for admission to any of these schools.
Please note that Bexley Grammar may not guarantee admission based on test scores alone due to high demand and limited seats. Factors considered for admission into Bexley Grammar School are ordered as follows:
1. Looked-after children
2. Children who rank among the top 180 performers in the Selection Test
3. Children who have a sibling currently attending the school
4. Children whose parent has been a member of the school's staff for at least two years
5. Children residing nearest to the school are considered, irrespective of their Selection Test score.
