The Exam

St Michael's Catholic Grammar School, situated in the London Borough of Barnet, conducts its examination process in a single round, held on-site. All applicants are invited to take a GL assessment, which includes four papers covering English, Maths, Verbal Reasoning, and Non-Verbal Reasoning.

Admissions Criteria

The school offers 128 spaces for admission into Year 7. In the highly likely scenario where the number of qualifying applicants exceeds the available spots, the allocation of places follows this hierarchy:

1. Baptised Catholic girls from a practicing Catholic family in rank order in the entrance test.

2. Girls of other Christian denominations in rank order in the test.

3. Other looked after girls not falling into 1 or 2.

4. Other girls in receipt of pupil premium.

5. Any other girls.
