The Exam
Henrietta Barnet School, located in the London Borough of Barnet, conducts its examination process in two on-site rounds. All applicants are invited to take a GL assessment consisting of three multiple-choice papers in English, Verbal Reasoning, and Non-Verbal Reasoning. Only those who meet the qualifying standard will be invited to the second exam stage, which includes Mathematics, English, and Creative Writing.

Admissions Criteria
The top 300 students from the first exam will be called back for the second round; in the event of a tie at the cut off score, all students with that score will also be invited to participate. The school offers 104 spaces for admission into Year 7.
In the highly likely scenario where the number of qualifying applicants exceeds the available spots, the allocation of places follows this hierarchy:
1. 'A looked after child' or a 'previously looked after child'.
2. Candidates who are eligible for pupil premium funding.
3. Currently live within 3 miles of the school.
4. All remaining candidates in rank score order.
Catchment
Anyone can apply to participate in the first round of testing, but after the second round, preference for places is given to applicants who live within a 3-mile radius of the school.
