Admissions Criteria
For both 2022 and 2023, children needed at least a score of 205 to be considered eligible for admission into a Birmingham Grammar School. However, the lowest score for which a place was offered at Bishop Vesey in 2022 was 223.*
In the highly likely scenario where the number of qualifying applicants exceeds the available spots, the allocation of places follows this hierarchy:
1. Children with an Education, Health, and Care Plan that specifies Bishop Vesey and meet the qualifying score.
2. Children in care or those who were previously in care, who met the qualifying score.
3. A maximum of 38 children eligible for free school meals who also met the qualifying score.
4. All other children who met the qualifying score.
Only when test scores are equal, children who live nearest the school will be prioritised.
Catchment
Bishop Vesey no longer has a catchment area.
